to me, maids are like gifts from God.. in a way lah..
they are employed to help us out in the household chores..
doing things like ironing our piles and piles of clothes, doing the neverending laundry, clearing up the amount of dust accumulating on/in our closets etc.. tho some maids do take advantage of their residence here in singapore, i'd have to say those are only the few. however, these few have tarnished the image of a maid in singapore..
if u are not getting to wat im referring to, recall the articles about filipino and indonesian maids loitering in lucky Plaza and City Plaza. these few immigrants are out to make 'extra' money.. ANYWAY, back to WHY im writing this entry is because i wana highlight some of the remarkable things that the maids are asked to do (in front of my own eyes) by their employers.. here's the list of unreasonable things: 1> Wash the employer's vehicle even tho the sky is grey and is going to rain soon. 2> Clean the employer's MOTORBIKE every single day without fail 3> Made the maid walk 15-20 minutes every single morning to the MRT station and queue up the long line of pple waiting to get their hands on the TODAY papers 4> Carrying bags and bags and MORE BAGS of groceries while the employer walks the dog only after marketing. 5> Making the maid walk round the dining table at the hawker centre, just to wipe the kids' mouths after meals. and get this, the mother is just sitting beside the kids. 6> Screaming at the maid for not taking care of the kids when it is clear that the kid was at fault jumping from the chair to the ground, with mommy by the side. 7> THIS IS THE BEST I'VE SEEN --> Getting the maid to get out of the car and prompting the employer when to stop the car while parking.. just so that the car won't hit the curb.. *slaps forehead!! wonder the employer pass the driving test in the first place.. bet the maid was there to signal for her* so there... so far this is the summary of what i have seen on what has been done on maids.. --------------------------------------- cant wait to meet Hubbz later and go for our appointment..
so anxious to know.. hehehe.. *rubs hands in glee*
